O2 Confirmed as UK exclusive iPhone Provider

Apple has confirmed that O2 will be the exclusive operator for the iPhone.

Steve Jobs, Apple’s chief executive, gave details of the iPhone’s UK launch at the company’s flagship UK store in London’s Regent Street.

He said the price variance between the US and UK markets was principally due to taxation differences, as well has higher distribution and service costs in the UK compared with the US.

The iPhone will go on sale in the UK on November 9th for £269.

O2 are offering similar call packages to that in the US,

£35 per month includes 200 free minutes and 200 SMS messages,

Skype on the Ipod Touch?

It seems people have already been discussing how to to turn the new iPod Touch into an iPhone.

It seems that because the iPod Touch uses the Safari browser, then you should be able to download Skype onto the iPod Touch and buy some iPhone headphones with the built in mic and use the the iPod Touch as an iPhone with free Skype calls.

It remains to see if this will work, as Apple may have disfigured some features in a pre-emptive course of action.

Apple has slashed the price of the 8GB iphone and also dropped the 4GB iPhone. This is a very surprising move as the iPhone has only just been released a very short time ago. But it is great news for those waiting for the iPhone they will now get an 8GB model for the same price as the 4GB model so all it good!!!

What did you think of the Apple announcements today please leave your comments?

New iPod Touch out today and new iPod Nano as well

Popular Apple Rumours site www.thinksecret.com has updated their news column today claiming that an iPod Touch screen device or iPod Touch will be released today.

Think Secret also predict that a new iPod Nano could be released today which is widely expected to have Video capabilities and top out at 12GB or 16GB rather than the current 8GB.

Keeping checking back here today and tonight and we will be updating the site as news comes out.

Will iTunes 8 be released today?

With all the speculation of a new iPod it is widely expected that a new version of iTunes will be released today as well. If the iPod is going to have coverflow and possibly Wi-Fi then an update will be needed. With the potential for so many new iPod features it would make sense to go to the next version of iTunes rather that just a small upgrade. Fingers crossed that is goes smoothly as iTunes updates in the past have been known to not go very smoothly which resulted in further updates coming out a few days later.

Forget the iPod the Microsoft Zune phone is coming today!!

This is a great click of what could be the Zune phone!!! Obviously you will all be rushing out to buy this?

Is this image of the new iPod Nano due tomorrow?

Gearlive has the following image which is a mock up of what could be the new iPod Nano. A lot of Mock ups have been circulating the web but we feel this is by far the most likely looking one we have seen so far. This image also has coverflow featured on the iPod which is very likely to be a key part of the new iPods expected to be released tomorrow.

What do you think will this be the new Nano?

JBL have introduced a set of Headphones to their range along with the upgraded Onstage.

The Onstage 3 is an upgrade of the OnStage 2,

"Set your music free, as only JBL can do it. JBL On Stage 3 with RF remote is a compact yet powerful high-performance sound system for iPod® and other MP3 players. Fill your room with clear, accurate JBL sound and all the volume you (and your friends and neighbors) can handle. Use the wireless remote to control the music from up to 50 feet in any direction, even through walls. But whatever you do, rock on. Because JBL On Stage II is the iPod dock that knows how to party, and it’s pure JBL. Compatible with most iPod models (does not dock iPod shuffle™), including mini, nano and 5G versions. "

While the New headphones are the 420 and 610

" Your daily routine may take you to all kinds of places where you don’t want to be. But JBL Reference 400 headphones are your ticket out. With large, accurate transducers in compact on- and over-ear designs, 400 Series headphones deliver rich, powerful sound with plenty of the bass punch for which JBL is famous. If compact-but-powerful sounds like a winning combination, brace yourself for another one: lightweight-but-rugged. JBL 400 Series headphones are designed for hours of comfortable use."

New iPod Touch?

The folks over at www.easyishop.co.uk have set up a new section for the iPod Touch.

At the moment the section is empty, but with the an announcement from Apple on Wednesday it could very soon include new cases, power chargers and FM Transmitters.

With rumours of a new iPod coming on the 5th September it appears that it may be called the iPod Touch. Apple have been very secretive about new products but it appears the new iPod could be an upgrade for the Nano, with a flash memory and video capabilities.
